Okay, Iโve decided to stop naming all of these posts after the places that I am in because you will end up with a long and confusing list of Melbournes. ALSO, I have been too lazy to keep up with what Iโve been doing so I am very behind and in order to deal with that Iโm going to pick up with the present time and fill in the past… later… hopefully… Iโll do it!… I think.
After having a lovely and lazy Christmas spent eating pancakes, opening some vegemite themed gifts, and watching the classic Christmas movies, we decided to drive the Great Ocean Road!
This is the itinerary Madan sent both Meg and I the night before:
After โbreakkyโ in Port Campbell we went to see The 12 Apostles and The Loch Ard Gorge. It was SO beautiful and it looked as if the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland had a baby with the southern coast of Portugal.
There were signs everywhere warning people about the venomous snakes, but I have a theory that they just didnโt want people hopping the fences and plunging to their deaths. Oh my god, the amount of people at these lookouts was bordering on insane, it was so packed it was difficult to walk around. Thanks to my ability to elbow my way through people and hurdle over small children, I was able to take these pictures and give the illusion that I had the view all to myself, when in reality I was being crushed against the railing by a horde of zombie tourists.
The next picture is my favorite because it is of the first koala I have ever seen in real life. Yes, it is blurry, no, I donโt care.

This was at Kennet River which is just normal place where people live, except there are WILD KOALAS living in the trees! We saw two more on this road and now my life goal is to buy a house on that road so I can stare at koalas all day long.
In the next picture you can see part of the Great Ocean Road winding around the base of the mountain. This whole section that we drove reminded me of the tour we took around Oahu.
Hereโs a picture of me at the lookout just in case my mom has forgotten what I look like and needs some reminding. Now that I think of it, Iโll add in the selfie I tried to take of me, Madan, and Meghan all staring into the sun while at the 12 Apostles.
After that we went to see a waterfall and ended up lost in the woods while frantically on the lookout for any sign of snakes or giant spiders.
This is me and Madan doing some ballet and/or stretching to prepare to race up the stairs from the bottom of the waterfall. Neither of us made it the whole way. Or even halfway.
We made it back home in time to order Indian food and play a game of CATAN! I won. (After having lost the last two games).

Thatโs all for now folks! Hopefully by my next post Iโll have actually set foot in the ocean.
Much love,
Syd
